Chinese Word of the Day

- Bian1 - Bat

- Bian1 Fu2 - Bat

After seeing Batman Beyond I have concluded that the obvious joke “Batman Beyond? Yeah more like Batman B MINUS!” doesn’t quite go far enough.

How about “Batman Benign” or the more verbose, “Batman Be-Suckin-the-life-outa-the-franchise-IT’S-NOT -CANON!-IT’S-NOT-CANON!

That’s odd, we were just talking to the guy at the video store about it today and he said he liked it specifically because it followed the comic so closely.

I guess I’m more angry at this: any show who’s protagonist is a plucky, sass-mouthed teenager who has to balance saving the world with finding their missing cufflinks for the Sadie Hawkins Rave.

This is just like when any show has to introduce teen-versions of their regular characters for new, younger viewers “relate” to. GI Joe did the same thing when Sgt. Slaughter had to teach a team of kid-jerks to battle COBRA. What does that get you? Duke in a freakin’ coma. Nice jobs, kids.
