乾淨 – Gan1 Jing4 – Clean

Susan told me a distressing saying today:

不乾不淨, 吃了沒病 – Bu4 Gan1 Bu4 Jing4, Chi1 Le5 Mei2 Bing4

Translated literally it means “Not clean, eaten no problem.” It’s kind of the Chinese equivalent of “God made dirt, and dirt don’t hurt.”

Update: Jenny reflects that Susan had never heard of “God made dirt, and dirt don’t hurt”. And I’d never heard of the Chinese saying. She then deemed this situation “剛剛好 – Gang1 Gang1 Hao3 – Just Just Right — Perfect!”

  4. God made flesh-eating bacteria, but you can’t catch it in the cafeteria?

There once was a young lady from Assyria,
who thought she had flesh-eating bacteria!
    But the diagnosis was wrong,
    because her fever wasn’t strong,
which is one of the main criteria.

Roses are red. Violets are blue. God made flesh-eating bacteria. But it’s really rare, so don’t worry about it.

    flesh-eating bacteria
    trims those pounds in days

    i like dis-ease and I cannot lie
    you other lepers can’t deny
when a girl walks in, dripping all over the place
and no muscle on her face you get sick
    wanna throw up junk
cuz you noticed her flesh has shrunk

Deep with a case of dyptheria,
    or an african flesh-eating bacteria
Oh baby, I wanna get wicked, and get infected
My doctors tried to call me, but that blight you got
makes my flesh all off me.
