兩 - Liang3 - Two
Wait, what? Didin’t I saw two is 二? Well guess what. Chinese has two versions of two. 二 is kind of like “two” in English, 兩 is kind of like “a couple”. Except it isn’t optional. Any time you could say “a couple” in English, you have to say 兩 in Chinese. But there are some exceptions, like two and a half. In English you’d never say a “couple and a half”, but in Chinese, you do.
