Yesterday’s disaster might not be as bad as I thought: apparently iBooks have this well known logic board failure, which sounds exactly like what I have. If so, it appears that Apple will be willing to fix it for free! Including shipping costs! I’ll try my luck at the Apple Store tomorrow….
