Safari v1.2.5: faster, better, still no undo

I finally ran Software Update and got the latest Safari, v1.2.5. It seems much faster! The lag I used to have switching between tabs, and the slowness typing and scrolling are completely gone. Nice. But… THERE’S STILL NO UNDO! Typing in a textarea is absolutely treacherous. One accidental ⌘-A and all your text is irretrievably gone, reducing the usability of my 2004 Mac to that of a 1984 DOS-based word processor. Didn’t that lady throw that hammer through the scary guy on that big screen so I don’t have to deal with this?

And while you’re at it, make it so I can undo the closing of a tab, too.

  4. Absolutely this is such an obvious lack in the current version that its omission is depressing. Any form of content entry via a webform is strewn with pitfalls, as an inadvertant up arrow and then any key press wipes the past few thoughts.
The number of systems that this affects from webmail to blog entry to wikis to bug reporting is vast.

  6. oh man I’m glad to see others complaining about this, I thought I was just being anal… and I can attest to the power of the undo after accidentally pasting the wrong template into my MT installation… without a backup!!!
