Sharena asked me who I’m going to vote for, John Kerry or George W. Bush. I said John Kerry. She made a surprised, disgusted noise and said that at school, she voted for George W. Bush, along with the majority of her classmates. I got back at her by telling her that the election isn’t until November 2nd and I don’t think her vote counted.

Then she asked me who I’m going to vote for for mayor, and named the two candidates in her town. I explained to her that since we live in different towns, we have different mayors, so I don’t get to vote for the same people she does. She immediately asked who is running in my town. I was forced to admit that I didn’t know.

Later she asked me what it’s called when a pig does karate. I didn’t know that either. Answer: pork chop.
