One of the movie theaters around here was randomly playing this Indian movie, Main Hoon Na (which means I’m Here Now, if the subtitles were in sync with the songs), so we went to see it. It was a good old fashioned three hour long action/romance/musical/comedy/drama movie. So far I’ve seen just two Indian movies: Lagaan and this one, and they’re both exhausting, but really good. So why is the word of the day “avoid”? One of the characters used “Avoid!” as a catch phrase… sort of shorthand for a similar concept to “don’t go there”.
(unrelated: how to know you are coming home way too late: the next day’s newspaper has already arrived.)

Apparently this has been going on for 2 years now, under our very noses. How stupid are we? Very.

I know! I drive by that theater at least once a week, and never knew. I place the blame with the local news media, keeping us in the dark like this.
I added that theater to my \’my.yahoo\’ front page, so hopefully I\’ll notice the next one.
