? in japanese is read as \”hayai\” of course there is a little hiragana \”i\” afterwards. It does mean fast though, not to be confused with the other \”hayai\” which is early and has a totally different charcter. Consequently, \”Osoi\” meaning slow is also \”osoi\” meaning late but they share the same Character. Go figure.
