Atom == RSS?

According to Dave’s new “RSS validator”, my Atom feed is valid RSS. Strange.

  2. Mark\’s comments were about the *old* Userland validator. Regarding the new one, which validates Atom as RSS, Danny has picked up the story today.

    Basically they just took the code from feedvalidator.org, stripped out all reference to the original, and called it their own.

  4. I know. And Mark\’s comments were prescient… You shouldn\’t use the old one, and you shouldn\’t use the new one. They\’re both wrong. Passing an RSS validator a bunch of XML that isn\’t even vaguely RSS should result in a long long list of errors. Instead I get a nice piece of candy that says \”RSS\” on it.
