– Ye4 – Leaf

Forget what I said yesterday. We did nothing. The 葉子 – Ye4 Zi5 – Leaves are winning, big time. Right after we finished raking the front yard, our big tree decided to drop all of its leaves. The leaf piles we made yesterday are now barely even discernable amongst the vast carnage of newly fallen leaves.

Look at the size of it! It’s like quadruple the size of my entire house! How can we have any hope?

  2. Stop fighting. The leaves will become a buffer protecteing your grass and plants from the winter cold. They also will naturally compost returning nutrients to the soil.

Raking a crime against nature. Unless, of course, you make a big pile in the middle of the yard and jump in it.

  4. Will the grass survive? Or will I just end up with a nice lawn of rich compost?
