Watching Fox News and Extreme Stupidity: Highly Correlated!
PIPA yesterday released a study: Misperceptions, The Media and The Iraq War (PDF). Here’s a handy graph that sums up the results, published in The Mercury News:

Now here’s the question I have: Does watching Fox News cause stupidity? Or does stupidity cause watching Fox News? Or are they merely highly correlated due to some external factor: For example, does conservatism cause both stupidity AND the watching of Fox News? More studies are required.

Well I\’m not suprised since the American people are generaly very badly informed about the situation in the rest of the world. They think that the rest of the world doesn\’t mather and that the only ones who are alwais right are they.Extra stupid if you ask me.I live in small European country and I have wery good picture about the happenings in the rest of the world because I\’m not a slack yaw hillbilly but a 22 years old student of computer technology.America sucks.Too many fears and bad beliefs and soo litle reality, truth and honest fealings.

So you feel that being a 22 year old (still wet behind the ears) student of Computer Technology gives you a good picture of the rest of the world? Maybe America should have just sat back and let Hitler take you country. What kind of view do you think you would have then?

Maybe you should ask a 22 year old student of Computer Technology.

…that is, unless they watch Fox News. Then it’s probably pointless.

Well, I’m not sure what to say about those who think we found WMD’s in Iraq, no matter what news source they use. Maybe they where hit in the head or something. As for the Iraq affiliation with al-Qaida, the wording of the question may be misleading. What do they mean by “working closely?” That could be a matter of opinion. Personally I would not say “closely,” but they did have some dealings (mostly minor) with them and gave asylum to one of the al-Qaida terrorists that was involved in the first bombing of the World Trade Center in NY. This does not mean that Saddam had anything to do with the 9/11 attack, and this was never claimed. So get that out of your heads liberals! The war on terror is not just against those that committed the 9/11 attack. Whether you agree with it or not, it is against all terrorists and those who support them. It is making a stand and saying this type of behavior will not be tolerated in this world.

As for the European guy. I don’t think you have a good understanding of the world. Sometimes taking action is just the right thing to do, even though it’s not the easiest. Helping fellow people in need and trying to improve the world is a duty as a human being, no matter what country you are from. This would not be evident by the actions of European counties who like to sit on their asses. Europe won’t even take action when there are problems in its own back yard, until a county like America steps up and does what’s right. We don’t even need to go way back to World War 2. Can you say genocide, and slaughter of civilians? Can you say Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo? Europe did nothing to stop it until we got involved. Think about it!
