Chinese Word of the Day

- Bing4 - Sickness, Disease

My computer was attacked by a 病毒 - Bing4 Du2 - Disease Poison — Virus from Korea today. It had no effect on me.

病毒 originally meant virus in the epidemiological sense. But it also now means computer virus, just like in English.

What\’s with the quiz? I just tried it and it never ends! It repeats items, and never gives a score. And I was doing pretty well for a waigouren. The quiz is nicely done if it would just add a sense of when it will end, and a score, it would be great. Word of the day looks nice too.

steve

You\’re right, it never ends and there is no score! I just built it for my own amusement. But since I know at least one other person likes it, maybe I\’ll improve it.

steve

What you wrote there means \”specialized hospital\” in Chinese, according to my dictionary. But the Kanji you used in \’sick\’ seems to be used in Japanese only.

Joe

I`m surprised the second one isn`t there. It`s the Kanji for \”ki\” as in \”Chi\”. what do the chinese use instead of this 気?

steve

In Chinese, \”Qi\” is 氣
