b2++ is going great. They have a plugin architecture, and caching, and seem quite active. But…
Michel V, the mysterious author of the original b2, has said that WordPress “is going to become the new official branch once they get a release out”.

Who cares? there\’s enough room for both of us, and I\’ve got a lot of features that WordPress is only starting out on. Chances are they\’ll introduce features I\’d like, and (for the time being) the codebases are probably similar so we can swap code and ideas around!

I know, I was just having fun with the imagined \”battle\” between the two forks. You\’re both open source anyway, so you can freely add features from the other side.
