This “Internet” is pretty cool
We’re trying to see how much our monthly payment might be if we ever find a house, and therefore needed a mortgage interest calculator. I was amazed and astounded that the one I found was at interest.com/calculators.
Interest dot com. Slash calculators. Of course! Who needs Google anyway?
I also like pig.com. It’s exactly what it should be. Perfect.

Don\’t forget to include property taxes and insurance. Around this area, property tax on a $250,000 place can run upwards of 4 grand a year, which is like an extra 300 a month or so. Insurance is usually pretty cheapo, probably less than 30 bucks a month. And if you can\’t make your 20% down payment, expect a visit from mister PMI, which can add an additional amount.
